Edo: PDP accuses Oshiomhole of lying over date of birth

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo has accused Gov. Adams Oshiomhole of lying over his actual date of birth.
Chief Dan Orbih, State Chairman of PDP, made the accusation at a press briefing on Monday in Benin.

Orbih was reacting to the recent celebration of the governor's 60th birthday, which Orbih said should have been 61th birthday as the governor's official birthday was April 4, 1952.

According to Orbih, Oshiomhole has consistently claimed 1953 as the year of his birth

The Senate has described the recent intention of the Federal Government to scrap the National Examination Council (NECO) and the UTME as a continuity of the pattern of policy somersaults that have consistently limited progress in the education sector.

Gunmen Storm Church During Service in Maiduguri

Gunmen suspected to be the radical Islamic sect; Boko Haram today launched an attack on a local Church of the Brethren- Ekilisiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN) in Maiduguri the Borno State capital while the Sunday service was in progress.

Today’s incident marks the first time that an attack will be launched on a church in the Maiduguri metropolis in broad daylight during Sunday service since the Boko Haram insurgence heightened in the area.
