Confusion: Covenant University drowned / commited suicide



Ndubuisi Brown, a graduate of Economics and Development Studies, has reportedly commited suicide over the weekend, by hanging himself in his home. Some believe he drowned at Elegushi or Takwa Bay Beach over the weekend.

It is still unclear whether  the 18-year-old, who graduated from Covenant University in Ota, took his own life or drowned. Some sources claim he killed himself over an undisclosed medical issue.



Ex-Gov Of Borno State Mustapha Amin Dies



Elder statesmen and former governor of Borno State, Group Capt. Mustapha Amin (rtd.) is dead. He died on Wednesday morning in Kaduna State.

LEADERSHIP gathered that funeral prayers for the late Amin will hold this afternoon at Sultan Bello Mosque, Kaduna.

The late Amin was the first governor of Borno State; he served from March 1976 to July 1978 during the military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo. This was after North-Eastern State was divided into Bauchi, Borno, and Gongola states.

3 women dressed as nuns arrested at airport for drug smuggling


They were definitely not as pious as they looked at first glance.

Police in Colombia have arrested three women who dressed as nuns, who were trying to smuggle cocaine under their religious garb between their legs.

The suspects were detained by customs on Saturday after arriving in the Caribbean island of San Andres.
 

The women were described as looking nervous and police captain Oscar Davila said officials became suspicious about their appearance and the clothes they were wearing.

Omawumi disperse Rumors Of Her Daughter’s Paternity



The rumors were very strong earlier this week that Omawumi’s baby daddy was a current governor in Nigeria. According to the stories floating on the internet over the past couple of days, the wife of the said Governor had apparently threatened Omawumi and warned her not to come to the state which the Governor holds power.

Even though the story sounded suspect, Omawumi has come out to confirm via her twitter page that all these are lies and false rumors. Via twitter she stated.

Rapper, Ja Rule Released From Prison After Two Years Sentence



After spending almost two years in prison for attempted illegal gun possession and tax evasion, US rapper Ja Rule has been released from prison.

Ja Rule was released from Ray Brook Federal Prison in New York today Tuesday May 6th but will remain on home confinement until July 28th.

Ja Rule was sentenced to two years in prison for attempted criminal possession of a weapon and 28 months for tax evasion. He served both sentences concurrently
