Actor Odunlade Adekola beats up civil servant, detains students over “generator noise”

Popular Yoruba actor and Glo brand ambassador, Odunlade Adekola, recently threw caution into the air when he and his thugs beat up a civil servant and detained some students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Odunlade Adekola and his team including Madam Saje (Fausat Balogun), Afeez Owo and others had lodged in at a hotel, Hcord (not too far from one of the Moshood Abiola polytechnic hostels), to shoot a movie – however a fight ensued between the crew and the students of MAPOLY.

The incident occured on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at about 8pm, around Adigbe area of the city.
Findings indicate that everywhere was calm until the movie shoot began – the crew’s generator was “allegedly” disturbing the peace of the neighbourhood.

The students insisted that Odunlade and his crew; Fausat Balogun, Ebun Oloyede known as Olaiya Igwe and some others, should put-off the ‘noisy’ generator “because it was disturbing their reading for an exam the next day.”

However, Odunlade reportedly told the students that “E o le da mi duro (you can’t stop me) eni ti baba e bah toh, ko wa le mi ni bi bayii (he whose father has the guts should come and stop me)”.

Not intimidated by the actor’s threats, the students insisted the generator must be put-off because it was constituting a nuisance to them – the students and the team soon began exchanging words and cussing.

In the process, Odun ordered his thugs to beat life out of the ‘defiant’ students.
Even a civil defence officer, who reportedly tried to restore peace, was not left out of Odun’s ‘largesse’ as he was beaten black and blue by Odun.

At about 10pm on Sunday, some police from Adigbe Police Station allegedly arrested the students after Odun had begged them to teach the students a lesson for disobeying the ‘orders of a popular movie star’.

They were later released after landlords association of the area intervened.

So far, Odun and the students have been summoned for a meeting by the landlords body but Odun surprisingly shunned the meetings.

Also, the civil defendant has since reported the issue to the police custody and the case is presently being looked into!

Some of the students in the area confirmed the story stressing that it was not the first time Odun was involving in such a shameful act.

“He keeps saying none of us can attain the heights he has reached,” one of the aggrieved students said.

Odunlade Adekola is yet to react to the allegations, neither is he responding to our calls.
