An Indian journalist
delivered his flood report while sitting on another man shoulder so his feet
don’t get wet. While the man struggling to maintain his balance to support the
weight of the reporter.
The flood in the
northern state of Uttarakhand, India has
claimed the lives of more than 1,000 people. Many lost their homes, belongings.
The journalist defended himself:
“The villager had
allowed him to sit on his shoulders as a sign of appreciation after he gave the
man money for helping him out in his time of need”.
"When I crossed the river he offered to
carry me, but the camera man was supposed to record only from my chest up,”
Pargaien said.
The video
was leaked and uploaded online after the television station refused to
broadcast the segment.
The reporter action has cost him his job. The video has cause rage online as bloggers and social networkers labeled his action as "inhuman" and "shameful."
