According
to the woman’s family, their 23 year old daughter Ma Ailun, a former flight
attendant was electrocuted by her phone as she tried to answer a call on her
iPhone, which was plugged into a wall and charging.
Reports
from the police said Ma Ailun suffered an obvious electronic injury on her neck
but they are yet to determined if Ma's phone was involved death.
Apple
said In a statement: “We are deeply saddened to learn of this tragic incident
and offer our condolences to the Ma family, we will fully investigate and
cooperate with authorities in this matter.”
The phone was supposedly purchased in December, but it
was not clear if it was the most recent iPhone 5 or a previous model.
