Man got his penis amputated after Viagra overdose

A Colombian man, 66, who wanted to impress his girlfriend with his sexual prowess, with sweet sensational memory she never will never forget ended up with a bad memory of a lifetime.

According to local newspaper, LaNacion, Gentil Ramírez Polanía took overdose Viagra then suffered an erection for several days. He went to a hospital after complaining about the pain.

Doctors found the 66-year-old farmer’s penis to be inflamed, fractured and showing signs of gangrene.

The doctors were left with no choice than to amputate his penis as effort to stop the condition was futile and the gangrene were spreading to the rest of his body.

The operation was a success, though “The patient showed bruising on the testicles and penis was treated and is recovering well,” Dr Antonio Correa said

Overdosing on Viagra, or other brands of the drug sildenafil, can cause prolonged erections, known as priapism, nausea, chest pains and irregular heartbeat. If priapism is not treated within 24 hours the penis may become permanently damaged, leading to difficulties achieving an erection in future.
