Microsoft buying Nokia's phone business in a $7.17 billion bid

Just days after Steve Ballmer declaring his retirement, Steve has given the go ahead for Microsoft to purchase Nokia’s devices and services business along with licenses to Nokia’s patents for about $7.17; £4.6 billion in cash. Microsoft announced the deal late Monday night.

A former Microsoft executive, Elop has been mentioned as possible successor to Ballmer next year. Risto Siilasmaa, the chairman of Nokia, has stepped in as interim CEO of Nokia, which will continue to sell networking gear, mapping technology, and intellectual property. “For Nokia, this is an important moment of reinvention and from a position of financial strength, we can build our next chapter,” says Siilasmaa.

Confusion: U.S serving military members opposing Syrian intervention

The United States is divided about what to do in Syria, and now some currently-serving members of the military are posting photos to Facebook saying they don’t want to fight in another country’s civil war.

 The Facebook group Armed Forces Tea Party posted a number of photos of service military members covering their faces with pieces of paper containing a message opposing U.S. involvement in Syria.

In Texas, a 23 years-old father discovered a man ,Jesus Mora Flores, 47, raping his five-year-old daughter, beat him to death with his bare hands. Under Texas state laws on deadly force, he will not be charged with homicide.

Under Texas state law, deadly force is authorized and indeed, justified in order to stop an aggravated sexual assault and coupled with the fact that the harrowing 911 calls made by the father back claims he even tried to save the pedophile's life led to the grand jury's decision.

19-year old Brazilian girl, Adriana Andrade who was cheating on her boyfriend swallowed her phone to prevent him from reading her text messages.

According to a report by Punch Newspaper, the mother of the 14-year-old boy who successfully flew in the tyre compartment a Lagos-bound Arik flight from Benin airport on Saturday morning, was yesterday Monday August 26th grilled for hours by a combined team of security operatives from the Department of State Security Service and aviation security.

The mother, Evelyn Ohikhena said:

“My son answers Daniel in school and Ricky at home. I went to my elder sister’s place who put to bed and when I got home the next morning (Saturday), I couldn’t find him. My daughter told me that they quarrelled in the night because he woke at midnight to watch movies and she told him to stop watching movie in the night and she said he eventually slept in the parlour while she said she went back to sleep in the room.
