couple, who had been married for 30 years, made their divorce public on Russian
state television after attending a ballet performance.
“It
was a joint decision: we hardly see each other, each of us has our own life”,
Mr Putin said.
Mrs Putin had rarely been seen in public in recent months, prompting much speculation in Russian media.

Determined to check the continued
despoliation of the environment, the Federal Government yesterday said plans
are underway to ban the use of plastic bags in the country.
Minister
of Environment, Mrs. Hadza Mailafia, who dropped the hint during the 2013 World
Environment Day celebration in Abuja, said government would favour the use of
paper bags in their place.
Mailafia,
who said the ban would take effect from January 2014, also said the Federal
Government was also considering banning the use of sachet water.

Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat Nigeria Mr. Steve Evans, has
described the celebrated porting of the comedian Hafiz Oyetoro popularly known as Saka as a mistake,
noting that he will return back to Etisalat fold after 90 days.
Speaking
in Lagos yesterday at a media Roundtable on
Mobile NumberPortability (MNP) , Evans noted that
“We all make mistakes in life” and the decision by Saka to port from Etisalat
to a rival network MTN Nigeria was one of such mistakes on the part
of the comedian.

Florida police arrested and charged a nude man
with assault related charges after stripping nude and spitting in an officer's
face, according to a statement released by police in Florida.
Police said the naked man, who spat in the face of an officer and was shocked with a stun gun, told officers he was trying to propose to his girlfriend.
Casselberry police said they responded to a home around 3:45 am Sunday when a man called to report a stranger had knocked on his door and was stripping naked in his backyard.
