Fast rising Nollywood actor, IK Ogbonna, is gradually carving a niche for himself in the industry. He has succeeded in featuring in movies and kissed actresses most men dream about. He told Saturday Beats that his kiss with Ini Edo remains the most memorable.
Ogbonna said, “I have done quite a number of kissing scenes. I did one with Rukky Sanda. The role I played, the guy in the movie enjoyed kissing. I have kissed Ini Edo. Growing up, I used to love watching Ini Edo. I had a crush on her back then, also Genevieve and Omotola. Being on set with Ini Edo, if you’ll put it that way, I’d say she is the best I have ever kissed.”
Also a model, the young man stated that he would not quit the industry for acting. He stated emphatically that he would prefer to be known as an actor.
Asked about his multimillion naira deal with Rakkan Perfume Limited in Dubai for a new fragrance, Ogbonna shied away, saying the paperwork has yet to be completed.
“I’m still a model, but I’m more into brand jobs right now. I want people to know me more as an actor than a model. As for the multi-million naira deal that was reported that I bagged with a Dubai based perfume company, I would like to leave some things unsaid until the documents have been put together.
“I wouldn’t talk about that yet, I would like to leave things unsaid, until certain documents have been put in place,” he said.
Taking a trip down memory lane, the actor told Saturday Beats that a crazy fan once attempted to rape him.
“She tried raping me. She acted like a friend, we got talking, and she came to my house for a drink and tried forcing herself on me. She said she was going to scream and say I tried going to rape her if I did not agree.
“Luckily, I was talking to somebody on the phone at that point in time, so I just kept the person on the line. I told the girl that someone heard everything she said and it was up to her to do anything she wanted. She let go and I forgave her. She is fine but it is not about beauty.
“You cannot sleep with every girl in the world. You have to have self-respect. Sex could be a one-hour or 15-minute thing but after it is done, what next? I don’t think a human being that knows his or her value should give his or her body to just anybody,” Ogbonna said.
