Police said the naked man, who spat in the face of an officer and was shocked with a stun gun, told officers he was trying to propose to his girlfriend.
Casselberry police said they responded to a home around 3:45 am Sunday when a man called to report a stranger had knocked on his door and was stripping naked in his backyard.
The police report said officers arrived at the home to find Thomas Edwards Jr., 22, naked on the back porch of the house. Police ordered the man to put on his shorts.
Edwards, who identified himself as Zim, told officers that his girlfriend had invited him to the house so he could propose and that she had instructed him to remove his clothes.
He then told police that he just wanted to go to jail, and asked if bashing an officer in the head would lead to his arrest.
"I told him not to try it," an officer wrote in his police report.
The man then asked if he can spit on the officer's face and get arrested, then proceeded to do so despite being warned not to.
Edwards was detained with a stun gun and arrested on charges of indecent exposure in public, battery on an officer and theft.
