Doug Engelbart,
the inventor of the computer mouse and developer of early incarnations of email, word processing
programs and the Internet, has died at the age of 88.
Doug Engelbart was born on 30 January
1925 in Portland, Oregon, to a radio repairman father and a housewife mother.
Doug’s daughter says, my father’s health had deteriorated and he died in
Tuesday night’s sleep.
Daug Engelbart invent mouse in 1960s , with wooden box, cylinder and two
metal wheels, presented at San Fransisco.
In the 1950s and 60s, when mainframes took up entire rooms and
were fed data on punch cards, Daug already was envisioning a day when computers
would empower people to share ideas and solve problems in ways that seemed
unfathomable at the time
