The world’s most expensive red wine priced at £122,380 for a 12-litre bottle has gone on display in Dubai.
Only
six of the Chateau Margaux 2009 Balthazars have been made and come with gold
engravings in an ornate oak case.
Just
three of those will go on sale.
But
the buyers will be flown first
class to the vineyard in the Medoc region of France for a tour
and dinner.
Paul
Pontallier, chief winemaker, said: “Chateau Margaux’s history stretches back
over 400 years.
"During
that time the estate has produced some of the world’s best wines time and
again.
"The
2009 vintage is one of the finest we have ever produced, hence why we chose to
bottle it in this magnificent format.”
The
wine is on show at wine merchant Le Clos’s flagship store at Dubai International
Airport.
