Photos of the most expensive and stylish
mansion in Nigeria surfaced online and it’s surprising to find that the mansion
doesn’t belong to Billionaire Adenuga as stipulated, but to Okwudili Umenyiora,
CEO of Dilly Motors.
Car dealer, Dili and his pregnant wife moved
into the marvellous edifice three weeks ago with their two kids.
Dili’s mum is married to the owner of Germaine
motors and he is the half brother of Naeto C’s wife Nicole.
Dili’s younger sister Obioma Isiwu contested for MBGN 2011
but did not win,she carted home the Miss tourism prize instead.
It took four years to build the
mansion and the housekeeping is being done by five house keepers, one of which
is a Philippine woman.
Behind Dilly’s success, there was an unpleasant past.
Mr Okwudili Umenyiora is alleged to be a Fraudster and
was arrested. He got released from Federal prison on March 9th
2006. According to Balwin County, Alabama Corrections Center database, he got
re-arrested the same day and later released. The official trail later went cold. Alabama
listed him as a ‘Fugitive from Justice’ and on trial in Alabama for running
a big time check fraud operation.
By the way, that’s not his first brush with the long arm of
the law, it seems he’s been a career criminal for over a decade as this mugshot from 2001 attests.
Back then his offenses included ‘obstructing a police officer’, ‘Giving a false
name or information’ and ‘Driving while license is suspended’:
Few years later, Okwudili Umenyiora was popping
up all over the society pages of Nigerian newspaper, magazines and blogs, Introducing
himself as ‘Mr. Dilly’, Chairman of ‘Dilly Motors’, self-styled big time
businessman and pillar of commerce.
Could it be the money he got from his scam he used in setting up
himself? Be it or not, his struggle did pay.
