Nigeria’s First lady: Patience Jonathan’s lost mother in car accident

According to a news report, the mother of Nigeria's first lady, Patience Jonathan, Mrs Iwari-Oba has died in a fatal auto accident along Elele Road in Rivers State. 

The first lady's mother was on her way to Bayelsa State when the accident occurred yesterday Monday July 22nd around 4pm.

Reports say her corpse was taken to Kpaima Mortuary by a team of policemen and a member representing Ogu Bolo State Constituency, Hon. Evans Bipi, who is a relative of the First Lady.

Video: New machine turns human sweat into drinking water

A newly developed device called the "Sweat Machine" extracts and purifies sweat from clothes, transforming it into clean drinkable water.

The Sweat Machine was built by Engineer Andreas Hammar using HVR Water Purification AB technology developed at the The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.

UNICEF partnered up with Gothia cup to run the campaign, titled "United for children", and raise money for water purification tablets for children. The organizers of the event encouraged participants to hand in their sweaty clothes and take a sip of clean drinking water which was once sweat.

Two traffic police officers in northern China's Tangshan city were fired after they got into a fist fight in middle of the road, while on duty.

Police later reported that the two women in the fight were not traffic police officers but instead assistants hired to help police direct traffic. The road police assistants wear uniforms that are different from those for police officers.

According to hospital officials in India, at least twenty-two children died after eating free lunch at school and dozen others ill. The lunch is said to be contaminated with insecticide.  

The children, aged between 5 and 12, suddenly fell ill Tuesday after eating lunch in the village of Gandamal located in Masrakh, which is 50 miles north of the state capital of Patna.

Woman Electrocuted by iPhone, family claims

According to the woman’s family, their 23 year old daughter Ma Ailun, a former flight attendant was electrocuted by her phone as she tried to answer a call on her iPhone, which was plugged into a wall and charging.

Reports from the police said Ma Ailun suffered an obvious electronic injury on her neck but they are yet to determined if Ma's phone was involved death.

Apple said In a statement: “We are deeply saddened to learn of this tragic incident and offer our condolences to the Ma family, we will fully investigate and cooperate with authorities in this matter.”

Leaked: The New BlackBerry A10 0r Aristo

The leaked BlackBerry is rumored to be working on a 5-inch touch screen handset called the A10, or 'Aristo.' 

Rumor has been escalating since last week when images of the device surfaced online and now a leaked video and presentation slide, believed to show the phone's full specifications, add weight to these rumors.

The University of East London researchers believe that once thirst is relieved, the brain is left to focus on the task in hand.

They carried out an experiment on 34 men and women who completed a number of mental tests twice – once after a breakfast of just a cereal bar and again after a cereal bar washed down with a bottle of water.

None had eaten or drunk anything overnight and all were asked how thirsty they were at the start of the experiment.

Cory Monteith died from a lethal combination of heroin and alcohol, autopsy by The British Columbia Coroners Service has revealed the result. 

The Glee actor, who was found dead in his hotel room on Saturday at the age of 31, died from a 'mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol,'  according to authorities. 

Police Constable Brian Montague said, 'There was evidence in the room that was consistent of a drug overdose,' said Constable Brian Montague, adding that he wouldn't 'go into specifics'.

‘Glee’ Star Cory Monteith Found Dead in his hotel room

The 31-year-old actor, who played Finn in the popular TV series “Glee”, was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on saturday.

Monteith, who had been battling substance abuse and had a stint in rehab in April, checked into the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel on Saturday 6^th of July 6.

The police believed Monteith was alone when he died and there is no suspicion of a crime.

Earlier last night, there were others with Mr Monteith, but video and fob key entries show him returning to his room by himself in the early morning hours and we believe he was alone when he died," he said.

Exploding Samsung Galaxy phone leaves teenager with burns

18 years Fanny Schlatter from Swiss suffered bums when her Samsung Galaxy S3 exploded in her trouser pocket.

Ms Schlatter was working as an painting apprentice when she heard an explosion, then noticed a strange chemical smell and her work trousers began to catch fire.

She claims to have been left with no feeling in her right thigh and said she will be launching a criminal complaint against Samsung.

The Swiss teenager has been signed off work until 15 August.
